Mrs. Carey holds a Master of Education – Educational Leadership from Keene State College (NH). Currently, Carey serves as principal of Winchester School (NH), a role she has held since 2018. Prior to assuming the leadership position at Winchester School, Carey served as assistant principal overseeing curriculum and assessment. Carey first joined Winchester School in 2012 serving as curriculum coordinator.
Parent, staff, board, and district administration comprised the selection committee tasked with vetting interested applicants with Mrs. Carey being one of two candidates brought forward to participate in a public forum. After reviewing the public forum feedback, the committee selected Carey as the candidate to move forward. “Mrs. Carey brings strong leadership skills and expertise in the areas of curriculum and assessment which will be an asset to the Marlborough School community,” said Assistant Superintendent Brian Campbell. “She has worn many hats throughout her career in Winchester all of which makes her a well-rounded leader who I am confident will support the students, staff and families of the Marlborough community on their educational journey.”
In this position, Mrs. Carey will be responsible for directing the overall site operations, services, and staff of the school. Carey will succeed current principal Robin Whitney who has been in the position since 2016.
Marlborough School has a current enrollment of 164 students in grades Pre-K through 8 with teachers working in teams to develop a child-centered and integrated curriculum throughout all grades.
Upon learning of her selection, Mrs. Carey stated, “I am honored to join the Marlborough staff. It’s exciting to step into this role at a time when we can reconnect as a whole school community to celebrate collective successes and individual strengths. Marlborough School has much to offer, and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
